Shirley Temple

Fair loves 'em; I do, too. There's no fizz equal to this drink's fizz. And beverages don't come pinker. Redder? It depends on the amount of grenadine, I suppose.

Do you have a drink from childhood that you still revisit?

I found a Shirley Temple in a bottle a few months back; yep, I was excited.

Cranberry juice and ginger ale.

Adding both to shopping list because now I must try it. I like red drinks, as you know.

Being a Western girl, I'm a bit fascinated by the cranberry. It seems very New England to me. Then there are bogs, which are awesome if only for the simple reason they're called bogs.

My mother is from just outside of Boston, and this is definitely a drink I associate with visits back to Norwell, Mass.

Cranberries are the BEST. Simply the VERY BEST. For anything. Ever. Cranberry syrup? Oh. My. Freaking. Gosh.

Ohhhh. Cranberry syrup.

Here's my desert girl take on the cranberry: When I make Thanksgiving cranberry relish, I throw in a few chopped jalapenos. Orange slices, too. I know, it sounds possibly inedible, but it is delish.

Here's cranberry perfume: http://www.demeterfragrance.com/704066/products/Cranberry.html

PS I'm jealy you have both NorCal and NE roots. Cool places, both.

PPS I was just thinking of Jamila. Tell her I said howdy. Make sure you use the word "howdy," too.

Cranberries, jalapenos and oranges? I might have to try that. It does seem inedible but that makes me want to try it even more. I also will have to try cranberry juice with ginger ales that sounds kinda good!

I'm not sure I have a childhood drink... Cherry Coke maybe? Not that I was a Cherry Coke addict as a kid because that would have been bad but it was around when I was younger, then it wasn't anymore and now it's back but not everywhere.

I'm a bit of a cherry Coke buff, but I don't often indulge. I actually like vanilla Cokes, too. The flavors work together.

I like vanilla Cokes as well! Unfortunately, they weren't a big hit around here though so you can hardly find them anymore, boo! Maybe I should make my own.

I've also heard of lemon Cokes, which doesn't appeal to me. Although a lot of people drink cola with slices of lemon.

I've also heard that Dr. Pepper, heated, with lemon, when you're sick, is one old-school remedy. But that's a different conversation!
