Three Things

The "Wilfair" books include three things I'm interested in: movies, art, and science.

Broad topics, I know, so let's drill deeper.

The movies element: Fair's film goddess costumes, Monty Overbove's desire to be a filmmaker, and Prior Yates, film star. Art is represented by the museum next door to The Wilfair and the design of the Finley hotels. And science comes in the form of the motel's tar bubble, not to mention our bespectacled aspiring architectural physicist.

This photo encapsulates all three: That's the Variety building in the background -- Variety, of course, is the long-running entertainment publication -- then the Los Angeles County Museum of Art in front of it. And in front of the museum? A tar pits observation pit.

What are three things you like? They don't need to be nearly as broad as film, art, and science.

Three things ringing my bell today are a funny text I got from a pal, cake donuts, and the rotating fan that's keeping me cool during this strange LA heat wave.

Erika? It's Monday morning but I'm pretty sure this might go high on the trophy shelf as my favorite comment of the week.

1. What are you reading?

2. Have you gotten to the Weeping Angels yet?

3. I've had that song in my head for approximately nine days! Catchy.

1. I am reading Dresden Files #2 Fool Moon.

2. There was a Weeping Angel's episode with Tennant but I am pretty sure I am about to see them again next episode. Doctor Who is mking me fear silly things.

And yeah, it's Erika. My phone is not cooperating with this site for some reason. :(

Oh no! Is this a recent phone-site development?

I'm catching up on my Tennant episodes now -- looking forward to seeing that one.

Always happy to hear from Erika, anon or not. :)
