Meet Buddy Montgomery

Holiday surprises? I adore them.

I've had a few this week, but one that turned my heart into a sticky peppermint candy coated with merry feelings was hearing from reader Ginny. Turns out Mr. Ginny (Ginny, will your kind hubs mind me being so informal here? Hope not.) surprised Ginny with a puppy a couple of days before Christmas.

His new first name? Buddy. And his middle name? Montgomery.

Oh please. You know I completely puddled over this revelation. Still puddling.

Ginny sent me some sweet pics, including one with her pretty self and one with Buddy doglaxin' on the couch with his brother Rowdy. (Another great name.)

Buddy has some major ear action going on! The ears always get me. I know for a fact that both Overboves have cute ears, so maybe cute ears are a trait among those men who have Montgomery in their names.

(Also, Buddy Montgomery IS wearing a necktie-emblazoned shirt in photo #2. I have to stop typing now lest my sticky peppermint candy heart grow too hot and melt.)

He's the cutest! He clearly has a lot of character. How are he and Rowdy hitting it off?

Ginny, let me add that my dog-loving family has revisited this post a few times. You and the Budster may inspire a new dog adoption this week!

Awww, that would make me so happy! A gift in three parts! :) Buddy and Rowder are still negotiating their relationship. I think they are both trying to be the dominant dog in the house which involves lots of growling, nipping and, as we've told the 6 year old, "wrestling." I'm hoping it all calms down soon. When he is calm, Buddy is the sweetest, best behaved dog we've ever had!

Buddy Montgomery ran away Tuesday afternoon. Thankfully someone returned him last night. I'm choosing to think he was just chilling down in the World's Basement with Flossy instead of being cold and hungry on the streets!

Ginny! How scary. I'm glad the little guy is home safe. Nice people, too, to get him home.
