Monty's Marquee Bulbs

Monty Overbove's moods can be determined by whether his marquee bulbs are flashing hot or not. He's associated with marquee bulbs because he loves movies, and the majority of cinemas once sported dazzling marquees. (My bellows heart pulls and puffs when I see an older cinema marquee aglow. Yours, too?)

I wanted to post the exact bulb I picture for Montgomery #2 and I found not only the bulb but, strangely, a letter M, too. Works!

(My birth was announced on the marquee of a motel my dad ran: "Welcome Miss Gray." I had nothing to do with it, being a few hours old, but I remain thrilled at my motel-related debut.)

Your dad sounds awesome! What an awesome welcome to the world.

I love what Fair says in Wilfair about getting third degree Monty-burn. Sounds okay to me!

Also, I realized right after I hit "publish" on my comment, that I used the word "awesome" twice in a row like that. I feel like a cliche of a Southern California Native, lol.

We like cliches :D I also agree, your dad sounds awesome!

Ha ha! I think it might have been the motel employees who changed the marquee, because my dad was busy at the hospital, but I will check with my parents. Still, my dad is totally awesome. :)

Carly, I WAY overuse "awesome" too! SoCal represent!

That sounds like such a wonderful, old Hollywood story, you were born with your name in lights! I especially like the formality of referring to a baby as "Miss Gray".

I'm not sure they knew what my name would be yet. But I like the formality, too, for a day-old baby. Kind of makes me laugh.

I have a b&w photo that looks like it was taken in 1928. I'll post one day!

I'm with the others, awesome story! So cute and as Bess said the Miss Gray makes it all the better.

I will post the picture someday! It's pretty cute, I must admit. My first shot at being a starlet. And I had absolutely no idea. I had no idea that I even had toes yet, though, or what I even was. ;)
