501

Space has been given 'round these parts to Gomery's corduroys, but we haven't talked much about Monty's sartorial choices.

Today we have reason. This is post #501 here at Wilfair HQ and to celebrate? Monty's 501s.

Can we also talk about what kinds of shoes they both wear? I need to know for...reasons. ;)

Maybe I can post on that early next week? Need it sooner?

Thanks for the prompt, Caitlin!

Why am I feeling Doc Martins?

wealhtheow, you are definitely thinking in the right direction.

Oh, early next week is fine. Do post on it!

I'm thinking Converse, personally. I'm a big fan of the TV show "Chuck", and he always wore his trusty Chuck Taylor All Stars. I see some elements of Chuck in the cousins.

Converse! Yes. For both.

Also, Monty's into Vans. California boy.

Absolutely do a whole post about shoes next week if you are still inclined, but also know that you have just confirmed exactly what I wanted to know.

Oh! One more thing, though. I'd say Gomery also leans to brown shoes, not exactly shiny dress shoes but something that befits greeting/helping guests at the motel. He might wear Converse with ties/corduroys on occasion, but if he's feeling slightly nicer he might wear brown shoes.

Just sort of loafer shoes, not expensive or designer.

RooOWwerrrr! Yes!

I totally see Vans on Monty - all the boys I had crushes on growing up wore vans ;)

Carly! YES. My husband was wearing the most colorful Vans on the day we met. :)

I am a sucker for "how we met" stories. Do tell! Please?

Oh Caitlin! When I see you. ;)

It's a long one, but given that we're all wordsmiths 'round these parts I will share this: My husband says he was inspired to ask me out because, during our brief and random run-in, I used the word "persnickety."

Never have I more enthusiastically clicked the Rrowr button!

I didn't realise I had a type in relation to men's shoes, but thinking about it, I definitely had/have a thing for guys who wear converse.

'Persnickety' is such a great word. And 'usage of persnickety' is maybe my favourite reason I've heard for asking someone out!

Converse shoes are dang cute on anybody. It's like a law or something.

Persnickety is a great word, but I don't think I use it all that much now! I was a student back then so I think my brain was more active.

Maybe he thought I'd use it all the time once we got married. Huh. Maybe I'll break it out a few times this weekend and see if he notices.
