Mystery Sequin

Reader kitzie -- hola, kitzie! -- sent me this photo a few months back. I think it arrived in the swirl of me reading (and rereading and rereading and rereading) "Stay Awhile," so I stashed it with a plan to eventually post it here.

Today's that day. Don't you love it when today's that day? Few phrases are as deeply hopeful. Or hope-filled, if you prefer.

Turns out kitzie found a mystery sequin at her workplace, a workplace where people most definitely do not wear sequins. Intriguing.

So, one day, this photo showed up in my inbox. I was so delighted it went on my phone's lock screen. Oh yes, there's something: If you send me a photo, chances are very good it will go on my phone for a week, so I can look at it and be delighted and reminded of readers and this little world.

In fact, I have another image from a reader on my phone right now. Hi, Caitlin.

This isn't the only mystery sequin I've heard about: Ms. do dah also recently found a few. And then, of course, there was the random orange sequin I spied on the corner of Wilshire and Fairfax. WHAT.

Why are there sequins in the Wilfair books? A few reasons, which I'm sure I'll elaborate on down the road. A principal one: Magic can be small.

I hope this is a sign that small magic is happening at my work! Some of my experiments could use it. :)

I'll admit I'm blushing to see my little pic on your blog Alysia. It makes my hallway look sort of glam.
