Dressy Times at Disneyland

Ohhhhhh boy.

So Dapper Day is back at Disneyland this weekend. It's when people gussy up, in vintage, mostly, and promenade around the park, looking gorgeous. Gurgle. Eyes spinning. I'm wild about it. Wild!

But it's Dapper Days this time -- both Saturday and Sunday -- and I'm not going.

1. I'll actually be at Disneyland later this week, dressed as a ghost from the Haunted Mansion. TRUTH. Not fibbing. Shhhhh, only a few people know. It's for a special event and I've been planning my costume for a month. I don't have many talents in this world but I make a pretty good ghost, if you ever need ghost tips.

2. I'm busy finishing "Fairwil" and the final chute of any book means my weekends are devoted to typing, typing, typing. It's a pleasure! I adore you guys and I do it for you (and for me and for the people inside the book, who need some satisfying resolutions or non-resolutions or next steps).

But we can and shall enjoy photos from Dapper Day last fall. Look at these marvelous funsters. I can't get enough of these pictures. Who is doing Dapper Day with me one year? Ginny, I know you're on board, so it might be you and me, sister.

Oh, I would love to go to this! Vintage clothes and Disneyland, what's not to like?

And I totally can picture Fair and Gomery doing Dapper Day.

Jill! Come down! We'll go.

And yes -- I almost added that myself. This is definitely an event for GomFin Incorporated.

This would be so much fun! You know, the L.A. area has never been high on my list of places to visit, but you make it sound so much fun that I think it might be moving up...

You are invited and welcome, Amanda! LA is just Everything, capital E. It's nutty and complicated and wonderful.

And you can parade around in full vintage and it isn't even a thing. But that's kind of Austin too, right?

What fun. The hats! the hairstyles! I would love to go to something like this.

Haha! Full vintage wouldn't get many looks in Austin, you're right. A few months ago in the airport, I saw a man wearing a snazzy white suit and black and white patent leather shoes with spats. Spats! loved it.

SPATS! Yesssss. I might have had to approach him and shake his hand. Love sartorial audacity. :)

And Bess, you would like it! There's video of the weekend, too. I'll post next week.
