The Garlictini

Unusually monikered cocktails tend to go in my "favorites" life category.

And cocktails named after people cheer me, hence the reason why there is a Prior Yates cocktail in the Wilfair books (so named by, yes, Prior Yates himself).

Here's one of my favorite cocktails, and it is within walking distance of Wilshire Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue: The Garlictini. The Stinking Rose, the famous all-garlic restaurant, makes 'em, and they're really tasty. And potent. And pungent. And great conversation starters.

The garlic is pickled and a little sweet, if you're wondering. But trust: It's garlic.

Are you a fan of the offbeat garnish? Fair Finley likes her cherries and I like my garlic, but I'll go in practically any direction when it comes to edible drink enhancers.

OMG Where has this been my whole life? I love garlic. When cooking, garlic is a staple obviously. I've even thrown it in a smoothie and enjoyed that.

WHOA. I don't know if I'm brave enough for a garlic cocktail. I'm a garlic-in-moderation type, myself. All my favorite cocktails have some combination of mint or lemon.
